Dwayne has extensive knowledge in a broad range of tax compliance and tax advisory services. His practice includes tax consulting services for small to medium CPA firms and professionals in BC, Alberta and the Yukon. He was a seminar leader and facilitator with CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course for 13 years and an instructor of professional development tax courses for CPA BC from 2017 to 2020. Dwayne is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Fraser Valley Tax Technical Group.

Hugh is a member of the Video Tax News Editorial Board. He also practices as an independent contractor to Kingston Ross Pasnak LLP in Edmonton, AB. His practice focuses on income tax services for individuals and owner-managed private corporations.
Hugh was awarded the Alberta gold medal and National silver medal when he wrote the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Uniform Final Examination in 1990, and has practiced in the area of taxation since. He provides tax consultation in many diverse areas, including business structuring and restructuring, negotiations with Canada Revenue Agency auditors and Appeals Officers, tax-effective compensation strategies, immigration and emigration planning and strategies for tax-effective personal, family and estate planning.
Hugh is the 2014 recipient of CPA Canada’s Award for Excellence in Income Tax, and a 2017 recipient of a CPA Canada Volunteer Recognition Award.
Hugh serves on a variety of committees and organizations. He is presently a member of CPA Alberta’s Members in Tax Working Group and the Joint Committee on Taxation of CPA Canada and the Canadian Bar Association. Hugh is the Chair of CPA Canada's Small and Medium Practitioners Tax Committee, and the CPA Canada Co-Chair of the CPA Canada - CRA Service Committee. He serves as a Director, and the Treasurer, of the Centre for Public Legal Education of Alberta. He is a former Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Hugh has instructed, authored and mentored courses for CPA Alberta, CPA Saskatchewan and CPA Manitoba, and has presented at CPA Canada’s National Conference on Income Tax and The One conference, the Banff Small Practitioners Forum and CA Forum North, both sponsored by CPA Alberta, and the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Prairie Provinces Tax Conference.
